Sparky, from an interview 2009: "I had an all-too brief...thing, I guess...with a beautiful young lady who I was really head-over-heels about. She was much, much younger than me and I think her parents disapproved. It's all really foggy now because I was always under the influence in those days...anyway one day she just disappeared and I never saw her again. I imagined all kinds of stuff...she'd gotten married, joined a cult, run off with someone...I didn't know...I even imagined her having a baby and not telling me! I put this album together with all of that on my mind. It's completely about her - meeting her, having her, losing her and feeling suicidal. About 25 years later I met our daughter, Kristie, through a cosmically serendipitous coincidence...."
And from another interview that same year: " The way I recorded back then...I was constantly writing and recording. My albums were put together from sessions that were sometimes years apart. I mixed and matched songs to fit the theme....the concept of the particular album. FSGBOC and Rodent to Rodent were done that way."
